A fresh round of Thrive Market goods has arrived and in January, I tried some really great new items!

Sometimes I wonder what the best items are to order from Thrive Market. Can I find them at my local grocery stores? Is my membership worth it? So far, I think it is! If you have items on your Autoship list, you have the opportunity for a little discount (especially if you order multiples of certain items).

With Thrive Market, you also have the chance to try some really great products that are better alternatives to your typical big box, mass-produced grocery store items. Plus, the goods get delivered without you having to leave your house!

This post is a recap of my Thrive Market haul from January 2024, with a focus on seeking out new snacks with higher protein content, along with stocking up on some of my favorite pantry and household goods.

Enjoy!

Haul Date: January 14, 2024

Haul Cost: $153.12

Repeat Item Recap

A lot of my repeat items from Thrive Market include everyday use items, whether they are for cooking or cleaning. I love that you can get both food and non-food items from here!

Thrive Organic Olive Oil

We use olive oil almost daily for cooking, which is why I think its important for our olive oil to be organic. I typically purchase the two-pack of the Thrive Market brand, which comes out to around $30.00 with my autoship discount.

This single-source olive oil is made with koroneiki olives produced from a farm in Crete, Greece and is something we always have in the pantry!

Avocado Oil Spray

This product is all about convenience for when I need a quick spray to grease a dish for baking or cooking something up in a pan. I also use it to spray some avocado oil in my rice cooker to help avoid sticking (my rice cooker is like over 20 years old at this point and probably needs to be replaced, but it was a gift from my mom that I can’t part with just yet).

Organic Breakfast Blend Coffee

Another product we always try and buy organic is coffee, and I rotate my selection between Trader Joe’s, Sprouts, and Thrive Market brands. I’m not a coffee connoisseur and I generally keep things simple – one cup (usually daily) with some organic creamer (often with a scoop of Vital Proteins collagen).

This breakfast blend from Thrive Market is pretty tasty in my opinion and at medium roast, I find it well balanced. It’s also regeneratively grown, which means the farming practices help reduce environmental impact. It’s a thumbs up for a repeat buy.

Banza Mac & Cheese (Deluxe Size)

Do you ever have one of those days where you just don’t want to cook something very involved? I have them often. Enter the boxed mac and cheese! We don’t eat things like this super often, but it’s nice to have a box or two on hand for those lazy moments.

When I make this, I typically cut up and lightly fry some chicken sausages from Trader Joe’s to toss in with the mac (and maybe top it with some green onions if I want to be fancy). Because Banza is made with chickpeas, there is a higher protein content as well. When you pair that with some extra animal protein, its not a bad high-protein meal!

Ecos Dish Soap

Years ago, I went through a phase where I transitioned my household and personal care products to those that were free of nasty potentially cancer-causing chemicals (and also cruelty-free). I landed on Ecos as my go-to brand for several things, including dish soap and laundry detergent.

The free and clear is hypoallergenic which is especially good to have when it comes to washing dishes, given the amount of skin contact with the soap.

Primal Kitchen Spicy Ketchup

So I totally forgot to take a picture of this product, but the Primal Kitchen Spicy Ketchup is my favorite ketchup! It’s unsweetened so there’s no sugar content and the flavor is just on point. I wouldn’t really say it’s “spicy” but it does have a better flavor profile than plain ketchups. And it’s also made with organic ingredients!

This ketchup (as with all Primal Kitchen products) can be a little on the pricey side, which is why I like that I can save a little bit with the autoship feature.

Simple Mills Cheddar Crackers

Cleaner-ingredient Cheez-It dupes to the rescue! Simple Mills is a gluten-free brand churning out delicious snacks like crackers, cookies, and muffin mixes with nut and seed flour bases. I’ve tried a lot of their products and I’ve never had anything bad!

My favorite flavor of their crackers to have on hand is the Farmhouse Cheddar, which I think are a good Cheez-It alternative. Do they taste exactly the same? No, of course not (they taste amazing regardless). But you don’t have to worry about consuming something with highly-processed soybean or canola oils.

Organic Pumpkin

This one is actually for my dog! I like to have pumpkin on hand to help with upset tummies or to help encourage eating when my old, senior lab isn’t feeling too well. She LOVES this stuff. I don’t give it to her all the time, but when I do, I’ll mix about a tablespoon or two in with her food and she scarfs it down.

January New Item Recap

In each new Thrive Market order this year, I’m committing to trying some new items. I think this batch of new goodies actually had some pretty great stuff that I’m going to add into the the regular rotation!

UNREAL Caramel Nougat Bars

This is my new favorite candy. I’m obsessed! And I’m not even a big fan of peanuts. Go figure.

UNREAL makes “healthier” and lower-sugar versions of some of popular candies and candy bars out there (i.e. peanut butter cups, almond butter cups, M&M-style candies, a coconut bar that’s like Mounds, and now these – which are essentially their version of a Snickers). I’ve had them all now and these are by far my favorite of the bunch. I will be, in fact, purchasing four bags in my next box.

Orgain Chocolate Protein Shake

When you’re on the go and need a snack to grab quickly (or if you’re just lazy like me and don’t want to make a smoothie), these are perfect for a little protein boost! However, with 16g of protein, I wouldn’t consider it a super high protein amount for the calories consumed. I typically get more protein out of a smoothie when I make it myself. But hey, we’re being lazy here…

The chocolate flavor is actually really delicious and you could throw this in a shaker with an extra scoop of protein powder or collagen if you need a bigger boost.

Aloha White Chocolate Peppermint Protein Bar

Aloha is one of my favorite protein bar brands and the plant-based ones have some of the cleanest ingredients I’ve seen. We rotate flavors of protein bars, with the best being peanut butter cup, cookie dough, and espresso (in my opinion). But seeing as how much I love peppermint-flavored things, I had to give these a try!

My husband absolutely loves these, but I think the peppermint flavor is pretty strong. They are good, don’t get me wrong, but I’ll probably eat them 1/2 bar at a time unless I’m starving. Also, the white chocolate coating on the bar is far less than what appears on the photo on the box.

IWON Organix Dijon Protein Stix

I’m always on the lookout for snacks with extra protein because if you’re gonna snack, might as well add good numbers to your macros right?

While these don’t necessarily have the best ingredients (oils and maltodextrin), I thought the Protein Stix were so good, especially when paired with a turkey wrap for lunch! You get 10g of protein from about 15 sticks and they add a nice crunch to your meal. It’s a great potato chip alternative!

I won’t be buying them every month, but I will add them into the rotation periodically (just because I don’t want to get into the habit of having something overly processed for snack time too often).

Thrive Grass-Fed Beef Sticks (Jalapeno)

Sorry Chomps, your time has come to an end in my Thrive Market box. The Thrive Market-brand beef sticks are so much better! These beef sticks have a better texture and flavor, pack a good amount of jalapeno heat, and come in slightly cheaper as well. I will be buying multiples of these going forward!

Organic Cumin

Last but not least, we needed to stock up on cumin (because we use it weekly, especially in our Mexican-inspired meals). I try to buy as many organic spices as possible and this one is a win for me. We just used this packet to refill our existing bottle.

Are you a Thrive Market shopper, and have you tried any of the goodies I had in my haul this month?

Stay tuned for next month’s Thrive Market haul!
