As the end of May rolls around, we’re pretty much feeling the summer vibes even before it can “officially” begin – especially in California! This also means a new season of exciting summer products at Trader Joe’s.
This end of May 2021 Trader Joe’s haul is definitely my biggest junk food haul of the year thus far but there were just too many great finds to pass up. We were also heading out on a road trip up to Washington and Oregon and needed to stock up on some great (and easy) road trip snacks!

All the Pink Things
When you think of summer fruit, strawberries and refreshing watermelon may come to mind. At the end of May 2021, the Trader Joe’s shelves were filled with all these pink strawberry and watermelon goodies!
These are all NEW to the store (either that or they could be recurring seasonal favorites I’ve never seen before).
- Strawberry & Vanilla Yogurt Pretzels (mini size)
- Sparkling Strawberry Juice (small cans)
- Sparkling Watermelon Lemonade (watch out Blueberry Lemonade – you have a new rival!)
- Strawberry Shortcake Sandwich Cookies
- Strawberry Greek Yogurt Parfait Bars (a frozen treat with bits of granola)
Ube Everything!
While end of May almost becomes the turning point from spring to summer, it is still technically spring – which is the season in which all the Ube goods get released! Last year, I only tried the Ube ice cream. This year, I snagged everything I could!
- Ube Mochi Pancake & Waffle Mix (returning seasonal item)
- Ube Ice Cream (returning seasonal item. I absolute LOVE this creamy ice cream)
- Ube Tea Cookies (I think these may be NEW to the store this year? I didn’t see them last year, so correct me if I’m wrong)
Road Trip Snacks
For our road trip up to Oregon & Washington, I made sure to grab a good mix of sweet and salty snacks.
- Tangy Turtles Gummy Candy (NEW to store)
- Ghost Pepper Potato Chips (yummy potato chips with a kick that are not too spicy)
- Spicy Cheese Crunchies (NEW to me)
- Scandinavian Swimmers (one of my favorite TJ’s candies)
- EBTB Greek Yogurt Dip (NEW to me)
- Chickpea Masala Salad (NEW to store)
- Citrus Mousse Cakes (NEW to store – not sure if they are totally new, or I just missed them during the previous season)
- Carrots for EBTB dip
- Aussie-Style Sandwich Crème Cookies
- Organic Naan Crackers (to use for dipping with the EBTB dip and Chickpea Salad)

And here are the miscellaneous items I got in this haul to stock my pantry with!
- Summer Truffle Ketchup (this is the only ketchup my husband will eat!)

- Dill Pickle Mustard (NEW to store)

- Pretzel Bagels (NEW to me – a returning fan favorite item that was off the shelves for a few years)

- Mexican Cauliflower Rice (I stocked up on this since my store was out a few previous trips)
- Raspberries (for yogurt breakfasts)
- Mango Tangerine Candle (NEW to me)
- Tea Tree Tingle Conditioner
