Trader Joe’s Winter Product Haul (2019)

Here we are, in the middle of winter! As soon as fall products flew off the shelves at Trader Joe’s, the festive winter products went right up (and then disappeared rather quickly)! Most of these items that I’m writing about are all long gone for the season (things really rotate out of there fast) but that just leaves room for all the new goodies to make an appearance. Sometimes, you really have to act fast and stock up on your Trader Joe’s favs as soon as you see them (as I also pointed out in my fall product haul post). Let’s hope these all make another appearance 10 months from now when we do the holidays all over again! (Was that too soon?)

Here’s a roundup of everything I found at Trader Joe’s this past holiday season. Some items were a repeat for me (gotta have those favs), and of course, also some new because Trader Joe’s likes to keep it fresh!

Get ready for peppermint overload in 3, 2, 1…..

Seasonal Ice Cream

Candy Cane Joe Joe’s

The Trader Joe’s seasonal ice creams are my personal favorite of all the winter products! Specifically, the Candy Cane Joe Joe’s ice cream, which has consistently been one of my must-have items. I always make it a point to pick up a container each year (this year, I noticed it came in a smaller pint vs. the quart size – so I bought two).

I also got a cute little pine tree (pictured below) for some festive decoration in my kitchen. I’ll be replanting it into a larger pot to see if I can grow it into a little Christmas tree to use every year going forward!

Hold the Cone & Jingle Jangle

The Hold the Cone Peppermint Flavor and the Jingle Jangle Ice Cream were both new additions for me. If you want a tiny chocolate peppermint snack, the Hold the Cone does the trick (they are pretty small – exactly like the picture on the box). The Jingle Jangle was a welcome surprise with cookies, pretzel bits, and candies all in the mix (you can also buy just the Jingle Jangle Mix separately as a dry snack).

In the pic above, you’ll also notice the background of the Jingle Jangle has a seasonal “Grump Tree” (which is really a cypress tree) and is TJ’s version of a “Grinch Tree.” I’ve also re-potted that to allow it some room to grow for next year! It will straighten out as time goes by, once you remove the ribbon and ornament that comes with it.

Cost: $2.99 (for both the pints and the Hold the Cone)

Dark Chocolate Peppermint Cremes

These delicious little morsels look exactly as pictured on the box, with a filling of peppermint creme. If you like York Peppermint Patties, I promise you these are 10x better!

Cost: $2.99

Candy Cane Joe Joe’s

I definitely cannot get away from buying a box of these every year. Trader Joe’s stocks several different versions of their Joe Joe’s throughout the year (the original of which you can liken to Oreos), but my absolute favorite version is the Candy Cane Joe Joe’s.

It’s the end of January, and I haven’t actually broken into the box as of yet! I was busy making my way through all the other goodies. On my next trip to TJ’s, I plan on buying a quart of the plain vanilla ice cream so that I can enjoy my Candy Cane Joe Joe’s with it (so good when you crush the cookies up with tasty vanilla ice cream!). Another option is to dunk these in the vanilla coconut milk/beverage that you can also find at TJs.

Cost: $2.99

Dark Chocolate Covered Peppermint Joe Joe’s

If you’re looking for a little extra indulgence, you can also get the peppermint Joe Joe’s covered in dark chocolate and peppermint bits. My husband loves these!

Cost: $3.99

Peppermint Bark Popcorn

A totally new product for me to try this year was the Peppermint Bark Popcorn, which is caramel popcorn coated in dark chocolate and a white chocolate-peppermint candy coating. Holy cow! They are super sweet, so you only need a couple at a time, but I definitely fell in love with these. I grabbed a second bag to last me an extra month or two.

Cost: $2.99

Peppermint Pretzel Slims

For a little something sweet and savory, these Peppermint Pretzel Slims make a great snack. Sometimes, we get a little overloaded with sweets during the holiday season and need some salt to break it up – these fit the bill!

Cost: $2.99

Hot Cocoa

Salted Caramel Hot Cocoa

Aside from hot tea, hot cocoa is my favorite winter drink! I don’t drink coffee, and egg nog is definitely not for me, so I’m all about the delicious warm chocolate beverages (and usually take mine with a shot or two of whiskey). I keep a container of this stocked in my pantry all year (and I believe it’s carried in the stores year-round), but I wanted to highlight it while we have to endure the colder months of the year. If you love hot cocoa, this stuff is the best!

Cost: $3.99

Peppermint Hot Chocolate & Marshmallows

Another fav hot cocoa of mine is the Peppermint Hot Chocolate. I don’t drink this one as often as the caramel, but it’s still a winner in my book. This year, I also tried their mini peppermint marshmallows – a new seasonal product I’ve never seen on the shelves (I grabbed two bags and I’m glad I did because they were gone by my next visit). The marshmallows go great with the Peppermint Hot Chocolate, and yes, whiskey is still appropriate.

The marshmallows are also vegan-friendly, meaning they aren’t made with gelatin.

Cost: $1.99 for the marshmallows

Peppermint Foaming Hand Soap

It’s not edible, but it’s definitely a festive product! I bought two of these hand soaps – one for my guest bath and one for my kitchen and they have lasted pretty long (still going two months strong). The soap foams up when it comes out of the pump which I think reduces the overall amount of soap you might actually be using (and potentially wasting). The peppermint scent is not overpowering, and it keeps your hands nice and clean. I would definitely buy these again.

Cost: $2.99

Gingerbread Scented Candle

Lastly, I decided to give this Gingerbread-scented candle a try. I really should have smelled it at the store before buying it because the smell is soooo strong and overwhelming when you open the tin. However, once the candle is lit and burning, it is not quite as potent. I’ll save the rest of it for next year when I want my house to smell like sugar and gingerbread for a day or two.

Cost: $3.99

And there you have it! Everything I found at Trader Joe’s for the winter season. Did you try any of these products this year? Leave me a comment and let me know what your favorite winter product is!
