April 2021 definitely gave me some great Trader Joe’s new finds! In fact, several of these items have become repeat buys.
In this post, I’m detailing all the new items I tried from Trader Joe’s in April 2021, which include items new to the store or items simply new to me!
La Colombe Draft Latte
- New to Me
- Verdit: A repeat buy!
As I get more and more into drinking coffee products, I find myself picking up random items to try out. I am especially drawn to cold coffee beverages as the weather starts getting warmer! I picked up a couple of these La Colombe Draft Latte cans made with Oat Milk and I think they are great little lattes to have when you are on the go.
The oat milk makes it creamy and I don’t find these to be too sweet. I will definitely keep these on hand when I need a little quick coffee to go.
Ajika Georgian Seasoning
- New to Store
- Verdict: Another seasoning win from Trader Joe’s!
The new Ajika Georgian Seasoning Blend from Trader Joe’s can definitely be filed under “wins” for new products this year. Spices and seasonings in this blend include crushed chili peppers, coriander, fenugreek, dried minced garlic, salt & marigold. There are some interesting ingredients in this one!
So far, I’ve only used it on roasted veggies (especially asparagus) but I think this would also be good on shrimp or chicken.
Almond Butter Filled Pretzels
- New to Store
- Verdict: A delicious snack for peanut butter haters
These almond butter filled pretzels are a great alternative for peanut butter haters! Peanut butter isn’t my favorite thing in the world, although I do enjoy it in a few things – like Trader Joe’s dark chocolate peanut butter cups. So, I was happy to see this new alternative to peanut butter filled pretzels! The almond butter is ever so slightly sweet and goes well with the crunchy pretzel outer layer. A great afternoon snack for me when I’m working!
Thai Green Chili Sauce
- New to Store
- Verdict: A repeat buy!
Thai food lovers rejoice! This Thai style green chili sauce is packed with flavor and aromatics. Love garlic, shallots, lemon grass, and Thai lime? This sauce is for you! We used it for baked salmon fillets and it was an easy way to prepare a salmon dinner by slathering on the sauce and popping it in the oven. I’ve also used it as a dipping sauce for pot stickers. I will be happy to have this one stocked in my pantry/refrigerator at all times.
Dill Pickle Chips
- New to Store
- Verdict: Good, but not quite as good as the Kettle Chips brand
Dill pickle-flavored items have been making their way through the Trader Joe’s stores for a bit (how about that dill pickle hummus last year?). It’s definitely one of my favorite flavors around. I can totally eat a hand full of pickles as a snack! So, of course, I was excited to see Trader Joe’s come out with their own brand of dill pickle chips.
These chips make a great road trip snack, and while we thought they were tasty, still prefer the Kettle Chips dill pickle flavor slightly more. That’s not to say we wouldn’t be buying these again in a pinch, however!
Grapefruit Candle
- New to Me
- Verdict: A new favorite!
I’m becoming a great candle collector just as much as a Trader Joe’s houseplant collector! When a new scent comes out, I pick it up! I can’t actually recall if Trader Joe’s had this one last year, so I’m labeling it as “New to Me.” The scent is subtle and not super overwhelming like some of the floral scents, which means this one will be getting a lot more burn time than the others in my growing candle stack.
Thai Wheat Noodles
- New to Store
These Thai Wheat Noodles were a new-to-store item in April, but I haven’t gotten a chance to try them yet so there’s no verdict to be had! The great thing about these though is that they are stored on a shelf rather than in a fridge, so their lifespan is lengthy enough. This means I have plenty of time to whip up a quick batch of noodles at any time!
Chile Lime Chicken Burgers
- New to Me
- Verdict: Will be keeping my freezer stocked with these!
The Chile Lime Chicken Burgers (found in the frozen aisle) are not a new item to the store. In fact, they have been around for years! So, what took me so long to try them? Well, for a long time I was a pescatarian which meant I didn’t eat any meat other than seafood. Fast forward a couple of years, and I’m trying to play catch up on all the products I missed out on over the years!
These are super easy to pan-fry on demand, and make a great easy dinner or lunch as chicken burgers and chicken burrito bowls (I chop them up into bite-sized pieces for the bowls). The burgers are also just really delicious and flavorful!
Sliced Honey Roasted Almonds
- New to Me
- Verdict: Repeat buy for yogurt bowls!
The final new item I tried in April 2021 from Trader Joe’s was this bag of sliced honey roasted almonds, which I purchased to go on top of yogurt and fruit bowls. Since they are honey roasted, they are a lot sweeter than the plain almond slivers – but not so sweet to be overwhelming. They also have a nice crunch to them with the honey sort of crystalizing on the outside of the almonds during the roasting process. So good!
And that’s it for my new item round up from Trader Joe’s in April 2021! Have you tried any of these items from Trader Joe’s yet?
